If you have been through the menopause and not had a period for at least a year you should not experience any further menstrual bleeding (or spotting). There can be several causes for vaginal bleeding after the menopause, most of which will be nothing to worry about however any bleeding should be investigated as it can also be a sign of something more serious.
Tests to investigate the cause of post menopausal bleeding may include:-
- ultrasound scan
- endometrial biopsy
